GET inspired in making easy and creative dishes at home as the Kapuso cooking show “Idol sa Kusina” brings a series of fresh episodes airing on GMA-7 beginning this Sunday (Aug. 16).
From fruits, finger foods, carbs, and seafoods, Chef Boy Logro and Chynna Ortaleza will show viewers that it does not take a rocket scientist to prepare meals that the whole family and friends can enjoy.
For the program’s latest episode, Kapuso actress Vaness del Moral joins Chef Boy and Chynna in exploring new ways to have fruits incorporated in regular meal courses. Vaness gets to taste some lime cilantro shrimp coconut and battered fish with potato wedges, grilled chicken marinated in mango yogurt, orange marinated pork loin, and apple marinated beef bulgogi.
Next Sunday (Aug. 23), Kapuso singer Mika Gorospe adds some fun and music to “Idol sa Kusina” as she learns how to level up a pika-pika party with delicious cocktail dishes.
Chef Boy and Chynna are out to excite viewers’ appetite with some kani salad rolls with Vietnamese vinaigrette, veggie egg muffin, spicy garlic parmesan wings, spicy Italian mussels with bread sticks, and watermelon and kesong puti bites, served with mocktails!
“Idol sa Kusina” recently marked its ninth year on television. The show was part of the programs launched by GMA News TV in 2011. Its host, Chef Boy, is a master chef in Oriental, Mediterranean, and Western cuisine. He holds the distinction of being the first Filipino to be named as an executive chef of a five-star hotel in the country. Despite his achievements, his down-to-earth nature has made viewers and his guests as well, easily relate to him and his cooking.
The Kapuso chef is happy that Idol sa Kusina continues to attract viewers.
“Ever since we started ‘Idol sa Kusina,’ we really wanted to share our recipes and practical tips to our viewers,” said Chef Boy. “Everybody loves food. And through our show, everyone can be a chef and an Idol sa Kusina at home too.”
Chynna, who joined Chef Boy in 2017, shared how grateful she is to be part of the weekly show. In an interview with GMANetwork.com, the Kapuso host-actress said she is glad to be in a program that has been helping viewers cook.
“Happy Anniversary!!! Thank you so much ISK for all the important life skills you have taught so many aspiring home cooks,” Chynna said. “May we continue to help Chef Boy spread good vibes and love for food. God bless our whole team, [I’m] always grateful that I’m part of the ISK family.”
